Pearl Care and Cleaning

 

Pearls are very delicate and require special care. Store pearls in soft pouch or separate container to minimize contact with other jewelry.

  • Clean pearls with a soft damped cloth.
  • Periodically clean pearls in a solution of warm water and non-detergent soap; and dry pearls completely before wearing.
  • Never use ultrasonic or steam-clean pearls.
  • Use only commercial jewelry cleaner made specifically for pearls. 

Remove your jewelry before these conditions:

  • Apply cosmetics, perfume, or hair spray
  • Housework, or gardening
  • Exercise
